LVPRL

Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League Inc.

The Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League is a Bullseye Pistol League that was established by Railroad Detectives in 1937. It is the oldest continuously operating organization of its kind in the country. In 2022 we celebrate our 85th anniversary! Initially, many of the members were railroad police and officers from local departments but civilian shooters were also welcomed. Now, most members are civilian marksmen who strive to achieve a perfect 300 score.
Our bullseye league shoots every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Rich Geyer Indoor Range. The shoots, supervised by NRA certified range officers, are held in our 25 yard indoor range with 16 shooting positions. The range has excellent ventilation and heating systems. The facility is one of the nicest in the Lehigh Valley and is on the grounds of the Hellertown Sportsmen’s Association. Requirements for LVPRL membership include HSA and NRA memberships. Fees covering insurance, relays, and building use are very reasonable. Regular league shooting runs from January through early October. A practice league rounds out the rest of the year. The annual banquet and awards night is usually scheduled for early November in the HSA clubhouse.
Those interested in joining need only basic equipment to get started. A .22 caliber target pistol with at least a 5 inch barrel is recommended. In addition, eye and ear protection and a small staple gun are required. The league has a number of NRA certified pistol instructors to help those getting started. A basic pistol shooting and safety orientation is given to new shooters each season. Experienced members are always willing to help new shooters improve their skills.
